Format

Best of 3 Fast Four sets, tiebreak at 3 games all (tiebreak first to 5 points, win by 1), lets are not played; No Ad Scoring. Whoa! So fast! So four!

Singles Profiles and Brackets

Group 1 - Tommy Visconsi (1), Florencio Marquinez, Joseph Miheli, Bradley Young

Group 2 - Aldo Tarello Hernandez (2), Ted Pablo, Jason Kucharski, Kyle Schneider

Group 3 - Timothy Kurtz (3), John Travis, Jim Hester, Tony Mazzarella

Group 4 - Ryan White (4), Jay Lee, Scott Gold, Ethan Spade

Group 1's Tommy rightly earned the #1 seed as he's a tournament tested Wolverine from the "State up North" with a Michigan tourney title to his name! Florencio, meanwhile, brings tournament and playoff experience while Joseph has played up at this very event, at both 3.5 and 4.0!

In Group 2, Also also hails from Michigan but hometown boy Ted, back from 3.5, has loads of tournament experience to his name. Jason, with one of the sweetest one-handed backhands around, and the young, but tournament tested Kyle, round out a very competitive Group 2!

NWO's very own Tony!

Another Michigander leads Group 3 as Timothy has multiple Michigan tournament titles to his resume! Newbie John has some good results on his 3.0 vitae while Tony, one of the top players in all of Northwest Ohio, rounds out a tough group!

Speaking of tough groups, Group 4 may very well be the "Group of 3.0 Death" as MVRC's Ryan, he of National Qualifying, leads what looks to be the toughest group in the entire event! Indeed, Jay, the Midwest Open vice-champion, and Scott, a veteran of the NTRP's look to duke it out for 3.0 supremacy!

Singles Draw Predictions

With two players from each group advancing to the Championship Bracket, look for Team Michigan to take a number of the top eight spots! In Group 1, Tommy's tournament experience and Joseph's 3.5 experience give them the edge. In Group 2, it's more of the same as Aldo's experience on the tournament stage is impressive as is Ted's tough matches at the nigh-professional 3.5 level! In Group 3, John and veteran Tony look to be the toughest outs while Group 4 - the Group of 3.0 Death - is anyone's guess as Ryan, with Nationals experience - and Jay - with tournament experience - and Scott - who made a deep run at this event last year - will definitely earn their spots in the Championship Bracket!

In the end, Tommy, Ted, and Ryan look to be the three strongest players in a very, very strong bracket, so don't be surprised if one of them are hoisting the championship trophy when all is said and done!

Doubles Profiles and Brackets

Group - Christian Kellamis/Anthony Masaferri (1), Vince Cheverine/Daniel Petersen, Kishore Devarakonda/Ram Medapati, Jason Kucharski/Jim Hester

Kishore (blue) looking to add even more hardware to his 3.0 hardware collection!

Christian and Anthony, 3rd Place finishers in the 2023 Akron Open Doubles Championships, bring tournament pedigree while Vince and Daniel, of Towpath fame, bring the intimidation factor that is Towpath status. But when it comes to intimidation, few 3.0 doubles players are as intimidating as Kishore, a two-time tournament winner (2023 Towpath and 2024 Towpath) complete with different partners!

Doubles Draw Predictions

Could Kishore tie 3.0 history and earn the third doubles tournament title of his 3.0 career? We're saying yes! Although he'll have to be careful as the veteran moxy of Vince and Daniel will no doubt force Center Court's very own to earn such an historic tournament title!
