2025 March Madness Review - Towpath Double Champions!

The third 3.0 event of the year has come and gone during the month of March Madness as everyone filled out their bracket ... for 3.0 tennis! And the month ended with some home court winning as a Towpath player once again took home the gold!

Tournament Play - Towpath Doubles Championships!

Diego and Lucas, two of the best 3.0 singles players on the eastside - who in fact once played against one another with Lucas eeking out the victory! - joined 3.0 forces and joined two 3.0 legendary clubs - Lucas of LaTuchie and Diego of Towpath - together to take their first ever 3.0 doubles title!

In the first-to-five format, the two dropped only seven games en route to a 5-0 undefeated record! Towpath's Chris and Jason, though, fought well and could be proud to take two games off the eventual champs in taking their first ever vice-championship!

League Play

NEOTA Spring League

In Flight 1, Captain Dave's Medical Mutual 1 isn't just the king of all three Med Mutual teams, but is the top 3.0 dog of the flight and thanks to a close, close, close end-of-March 2-1 victory over last year's Flight and District champs, Captain John's Paramount Westlake! Thus, with three matches left to play and holding a two match lead, it's looking like MM1 will end the season with another "1" in their name - 1st!

Flight 2's North Canton Racquet Club, thanks to a late 2-1 win over second place Paramount Medina, a win in which two of the courts went to a THIRD SET SUPER TIE BREAKER, and then a 3-0 win over right-on-their-heels La Tuchie, enjoys a narrow Flight lead ... but Paramount Medina and Captain Sayyad are only one match behind!

La Tuchie enjoys a two win lead in Flight 3 as it's looking like Captain Eric's veteran 3.0 squad is playoff bound thanks to an undefeated 7-0 mark in which they've dropped but two courts all season long! Still, Mayfield Village Racquet Club is right behind, and as the two still have one more match to play, Flight 3 is still up for grabs!

Good luck to all three Flights as the spring league wraps up just in time for ... um ... spring?
