Doubles Results
𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗣 𝟯.𝟬 𝗠𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝟭𝟴 & 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀
Winners: Kishore Devarakonda & Ram Medapati, NEO
Finalists: Vince Cheverine & Daniel Petersen, NEO
In our event preview we here at DFO nailed the two finalists and in fact, both were 2-0 heading into the presumptive finals match! Kishore and Ram, winners of the first event on the 3.0 tour, the Towpath doubles championships, took an early lead in the first set, but Vince and Daniel, two veterans of the 3.0 tour, pushed them to overtime in the second! But the championship pedigree of Kishore and Ram were too much to deny, and in the end Kishore took his second title of the season, this time to the tune of 4-0, 4-3(6-4)!
Singles Results
𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗣 𝟯.𝟬 𝗠𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝟭𝟴 & 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀
Winner: Timothy Kurtz, SEM
Finalist: Bradley Young, NEO
In singles, home-cooking was the name of the game as local NEO players won three of the four Groups and secured seven of the eight spots in the knock-out playoffs (and by the way, we here at DFO nailed* five of the eight spots in our tournament preview!). In the knock-out stage, though, Michigan's Timothy survived an early scare over Tommy to advance to the finals while Kyle and Jay battled it out in a three-setter in the quarterfinals where Jay's consistency won the day - and the match - versus Kyle's power. No doubt gassed, though, Jay fell to Bradley, who, no doubt gassed himself (so much gas!) fell to the fella from the "state up north" in the finals!
Former 3.0ers
