2023 Season Previews!

Updated: Aug 1, 2023

The 2023 USTA league season is ready to go ... and so are the 3.0ers of Northeast Ohio!

Who will win the fancy trophy this season? And more importantly, who will win a fancy glass? Trick question - there is no trophy! Wait ... what?

That's right, it's tennis season again! And more than that, it's 3.0 tennis season again (which sometimes are two completely different things)!

So who was promoted to the near-professional 3.5 level and won't be playing this season? Who was demoted back to the nigh-lowest level of tennis possible and will be playing this season? Which teams will be playing this season? Which teams will win it all this season?! And which records will be broken this season?! Answers to all that and more (MORE!) can be found below!

Records to Watch

Which records will fall this season? Will Captain Frank get captain win #100? Will someone overtake Craig's 113 career 3.0 wins? Will anyone care?! Find out here!

Player's Leaving

Thanks to Schmidt Computer Ratings for this amazing chart that shows 3.0ers are everywhere! EVERYWHERE!

Congratulations to the oh-so-many big time impact 3.0ers from the 2022 Northeast Ohio season that will now ply their trade at the 3.5 level! All told, 23 players from 18+ and 11 from 40+ - some of them the same person (!) - were promoted to a level of tennis that probably earns massive amounts of prize money, it's oh-so professional. These elite 8%'ers enjoyed such a fine 2022 season that they will now face an even more elite challenge - 3.5 tennis!

From 18+, big name kids are heading to the even bigger time, players like Kuldeep, Anthony, and Abhijit from Force, Mirza, Sinan, Jose from Western Reserve, and singles stars Todd and Nicholas, the former a 2022 Akron Open Champion and the latter the D.F.O. 3.0 Player of the Year!

Speaking of champions, LaTuchie's Brian, Qingyuan, and Akron Open Doubles Champion Erik are all going to join Wembley's Larry and Fairlawn's William at the next level! They won't be alone, however, as almost the entire NCRC roster, a roster that finished an all-3.0-time 18+ Ohio best 4th at Nationals last season, will be joining them as well! So enjoy your new 3.5 lifestyles Jaime, Tim, Sunny, Benjamin, Mel, Allan, and especially Captain and Doubles Player's of the Year, Timothy and Matthew! Meanwhile, 2022 D.F.O. Hall of 3.0 Famer Craig, and his long time dubs partner John, both Towpath 55+ National Champions, will be main attractions when it comes to 3.5 play in 2023 as well!

From 40+, stars like Thomas from Towpath, Shengyong from LaTuchie, Robert from NCRC, and Kevin from North Ridge will now enjoy retirement from 3.0 as well!

Congratulations to all on amazing 3.0 careers and who knows ... maybe with a little luck*, we'll see you back at 3.0 in no time?!

Player's Returning

The literary classic The Odyssey, the well-known tale of legendary tennis player Ulysses, a 3.0er who was at first promoted, and then after a series of trials at the 3.5 level, later demoted, back to 3.0.

While some players are leaving the world of 3.0, some, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, are returning to the world of 3.0 (that's not a great analogy, is it?). Indeed, after a voyage into the semi-pro 3.5 level, these adventurers of the tennis courts are returning to 3.0, thanks to the help of the USTA's NTRP system. And now they can give back to the level that once gave them so much! 25 veterans of 3.5, nearly 4.5% of all the 3.5ers, are back, including Paramount Westlake's Joe, Force's Travis and Michael, Avon Oaks' Patrick and Paul, CVAC's Andy, Michael, and James, CSC's Sanjay and Nyugen, La Tuchie's Neil, Zach, and Kevin, Towpath's Tom and Timothy, Springside's Manuel and Michael, Paramount Medina's John, NCRC's Joel, and MVRC's Thomas.

If you happen to meet one of these former 3.5ers, make sure you thank them for their service, like the proper veterans they are, as they return to grace the courts of 3.0 tennis all over Northeast Ohio!

18+ Flight 1

Just like last season, the kiddos of 3.0 tennis will be set up in relatively geographically based flights (sorry, Flight 1!), and play two singles courts and three doubles courts per match in their home-and-away series!

Force

Player Name NTRP Player Name NTRP Player Name NTRP

Scott Mellino 3 Adnan Kazazic 3 Nick Gretta 3

Jeremy Benjamin 3 Joseph Miksa 3 Marcus Sutton 2.5

Travis Haselswerdt 3 Anthony Kulka 3 Tyler Elwing 3

Eric Levine 3 Gunnar Schied 3 Nathan Chavez 3

Last Season's Record: 3-5 (4th)

Key Departures & Additions: Anthony Provoznik, Abhijit Nath, Kuldeep Vaghela (to 3.5); Nathan Chavez (from Bay Village), Travis Haselswerdt (demoted from 3.5)

Notes: After taking 8th place at Nationals in 2021, Captain Jeremy looked to build the program in 2022, getting some new faces to play for the fanciest tennis club in all of Rocky River (all of it!) during a rebuilding year. Now with a year of seasoning, and with singles additions like 2022 Akron Open Vice-Champion Nathan (from Bay) and 2021 D.F.O. Hall of 3.0 Famer Travis (demoted from 3.5 play), Captain Jeremy looks to get Force back to the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons!

Questions: Will Captain Jeremy be able to prevent Travis' decaying tennis skills from eventually impacting - and thus also decaying - the skills of the rest of the squad?

Paramount Westlake

Dan McCabe 3 Peter Bitounis 3 Connor Hensley 2.5

Doug Michelsen 3 Scott Saunders 3 Kevin Dieterich 3

Last Season's Record: 6-2 (Flight Champion), 0-2 (3rd at Districts)

Key Departures & Additions: Ryan Kowalski, Todd Lenet (to 3.5); Sean Schulze

Notes: After enjoying their first Flight championship in years, Westlake's favorite Paramount Tennis Club (take that Medina!) is looking to continue the good momentum as Captain John returns with most of his playoff roster intact. Yes, he lost singles star and 2022 Akron Open Champion Todd to 3.5, but in a great show of captaining and recruiting skill, he picked up Sean, who showed at the NTRP Midwest Championships with his semi-final appearance that he could be a key player to help Paramount Westlake win back-to-back flight titles!

Questions: Can Captain John get newbie Sean to replace two Paramount stalwarts in Ryan and Todd and get Paramount to back-to-back playoff berths for the first time in club history?!

North Canton Racquet Club

David Walters 2.5 Michael Curtis 3 Leon Crumpler 3

Last Season's Record: 9-1 (Flight Champion), District, State, Midwest Champions, 4th at Nationals

Key Departures & Additions: Almost everyone! Captain Timothy Booher, Matthew Johnston, Mel Paulino, Benjamin Young, Jaime Unklesby, Allan Lynch, Sunny Makey, Tim Hinchliffe, Douglas Snyder (all to 3.5)

Notes: Last season's record-breaking 3.0 run was one for the 3.0 history books, but now that it's 2023, NCRC has to deal with the curse of a National's qualifying team - most their players were bumped to the semi-pro 3.5 level as well as now only four returning players can still play for the same club (odd rule, but the USTA is an odd mistress). Andy takes over the captain duties from last season's Captain of the Year, Timothy, while Michael, Leon, and Tony return as veterans hoping to lead a young and hungry team of newbies back to the 3.0 promised land!

Questions: How long does a championship celebration hangover last and will it hinder NCRC this season?!

Last Season's Record: None

Key Departures & Additions: Everyone!

Notes: New to the 18+ scene, Center Court hosts seven newbies, one 3.0er who proudly won his 3.5 appeal, and one veteran 3.0er, and thus looks to be the dark-horse club of the Flight! If they can find some key players to fill the courts o' singles, they could make some big 3.0 noise in their first season in Flight 1!

Questions: How loud will that noise be?!

Last Season's Record: 9-1 (Flight 2 Vice-Champion), 0-1 (Qualifying Round)

Key Departures & Additions: Erik Wasowski (to 3.5), Nicolas Savelieff

Notes: Returning to the playoffs was no easy task for Captain Eric, especially considering the number of top-notch 3.0ers he had lost after LaTuchie's great 2021 season, including Ronald Thomas, Akron Open Doubles Champ Erik, and, of course, THE Great Scott Hovey. But return they did, showing Captain Eric certainly knows how to reload a 3.0 roster! With a number of new players this season and playing in a new west-side flight, it'll be interesting to see if Captain Eric can get LaTuchie back to the playoffs despite weekly road-trips from hell for a seldom seen 3.0 three-peat!

Questions: The drive from Stow to the west side kinda sucks. Not really a question, but yeesh, sorry guys!

Bay Village

Erik Overberger 3 Paul Shepherd 3 Eddie Digges 3

Last Season's Record: 4-4 (Vice-Champion)

Key Departures & Additions: Nathan Chavez (to Rocky River Force), Tony Slabicki, Brian Chambers; Eddie Digges (returning from Florida)

Notes: The return of all-3.0-time Bay legend Captain Mark over the past two seasons has seen Bay steadily improve their team record two years in a row, enjoying a well-earned Vice-Championship back in 2022! And while it'll be tough to replace singles stalwart Nathan and doubles star tandem Brian and Tony (and especially Brian's famous "cooler"), Captain Mark does have the valiant return of former captain Eddie Digges to rely on to help lead the team both on and off the court!

Questions: Will Bay's famous home court advantage as the only team with outside courts and outside courts only continue to pay big 3.0 dividends for Captain Mark?!

Flight 1 Predictions

D.F.O. Math's Expert Jeff, breaking down how Flight 1 will go down by the end of the summer!

In a crowded six-team flight, Bay, NCRC, Center Court, and LaTuchie all have big strengths but also some big issues that they may have to overcome if they're to challenge for Flight 1 supremacy! Indeed, Bay has the most veteran players, but like the Cleveland Guardians, some of their talented depth has been poached by other clubs, leaving Captain Mark with a bare-bones roster. Similarly, NCRC, one of the most successful clubs in NEO tennis history, is in rebuilding mode as Captain Andy looks to replace almost the entire 2022 roster. Meanwhile Center Court, has the most 3.5 and 6.5 veteran experience, but also the smallest roster in Flight 1. LaTuchie, meanwhile, with Captain Eric, is possibly the wild-card of the entire Flight, for while his roster looks new, he's proven he can "coach 'em up" in the past.

In the end it looks like Flight 1 may be a three-horse race, as last season's Flight Champion Paramount Westlake has not only the deepest roster, but returns most of last season's championship caliber roster as well. And while Captain John lost Todd, he gained Sean, who can play anywhere on the court. Local rival Rocky River Force, though, may have three things going for them this season - 1), Captain Jeremy engineered the free agent signing of the flight by signing top 3.0 free-agent Nathan from Bay, 2) Captain Jeremy has been secretly coaching up potential Rookie of the Year candidate Nick, and 3) Captain Jeremy has been not-so-secretly coaching down former 3.5er Travis, who is back to annoyingly push his way around the courts. Center Court, however, may be able to take advantage of these two perennial flight powers as, despite their small roster, they've been rocking the 6.5 combo leagues all winter long and look to be the most primed to get off to an early 3.0 start!

Ryan White 3 Brandon Carrus 3 Mike Kanetsky 2.5

Last Season's Record: 9-1 (Flight 2 Champion), 1-1 (District 3rd Place)

Key Departures & Additions: Nicholas Fasola

Notes: MVRC enjoyed a fantastic season in a loaded flight in 2022, narrowly missing out on a District Championship berth in no small part due to NCRC's historically great team. Captain Robert, rather than dwelling on that close defeat, instead used that as motivation and now enters the fray with one of the deepest rosters in all of NEO! Replacing 2022 Player of the Year Nicholas will obviously be difficult, but thanks to stud doubles players like Scott, John, and Hyundong, and rising singles star Brandon, as well as tennis coach Earl, look for MVRC to make yet another playoff run with their 3.0 depth, their 3.0 leadership, and their 3.0 experience!

Questions: Replacing a former Player of the Year is never easy, but this roster is loaded!

Notes: Back in 18+ after a year off, Captain Jack has a number of star players to choose from, including NTRP Midwest Championships Vice-Champions Erick and Michael! If CSC can find some players to man the singles courts, CSC could very well enjoy a fantastic return to 18+ play!

Questions: The first year back is always the toughest ... how will CSC handle their return to the mean streets of 3.0 tennis?!

Notes: The Kings of Mayfield are back! And with another new King ... Brian King! Using their now well-known but impossible to prepare for King family communication and twin'ness, the King's have wrecked tennis havoc all over the courts of NEO for the past three seasons and look to do the same this year! With the addition of a new King, Captain RJ will surely see his team - er, family? - improve upon last season's finish!

Questions: Do the King's themselves get confused at who is who when they're on the court?!

Notes: With one of the deepest rosters in all of NEO, Captain Jared will have his prize of the litter to pick from when it comes to filling out 3.0 lineups this season! With almost the entire team returning from last season, will this veteran group be able to take advantage of their experience and repeat a top three Flight 2 finish?!

Notes: Captain Kyle takes over for long-time Captain JP, but with JP still on the roster, this club enjoys loads of 3.0 experience! Combine their skills on and off the courts, it'll be a master-class watching these two put together one of the smallest, but most veteran, rosters in Flight 2!

Questions: Will there be a power struggle on the courts between the current and former captain?!

Last Season's Record: 1-9 (6th Place, Flight 2)

Key Departures & Additions: Roger Lee (from injury)

Notes: Captain Mike takes over the leadership reigns from Captain Matt and will work to see historic CVAC climb the standings this season! And climb they should as with Roger and Matt, CVAC enjoys two of the best singles players in all of NEO! If CVAC can stay healthy and Captain Mike can harness some doubles power from his squad, CVAC will be an opponent no one will look forward to playing! (not because they're not nice, these are wonderful gentlemen!)

Questions: Perhaps the strongest singles lineup in the flight, will Matt and Roger flex their 3.0 single muscle this season?!

Flight 2 Predictions

Two members of the crack D.F.O. Analytics staff, breaking down predictions the only way they can ... poorly!

In a flight loaded with deep and talented rosters, this is a doozy of a prediction predicament, and the main question is which club will be able to dethrone MVRC1?! That is, while each club enjoys strengths - CVAC has two of the best singles players, Wembley has the most experienced leadership, CRC has the largest roster, MVRC2 has the most look-alike family members, and CSC has the most unknowns (which, oddly, actually is a significant strength in the world of 3.0 tennis!) - MVRC1 enjoys all that as well as a championship pedigree! That being said, don't be surprised if the depth of CRC and the singles prowess of CVAC challenge for the Flight 2 title late into the season!

Last Season's Record: 9-1 (2nd Place, Flight 3), 2-1 (Summer Qualifier, District Vice-Champions)

Key Departures & Additions: John Consilio, Craig Warner (both to 3.5), Charles Graise

Notes: One of the most storied clubs in all of Ohio returns with one of the most storied captains in all of 3.0 Ohio, Captain Frank! After a Flight 3 runner-up finish last season and the upset of the playoffs, a 3-2 win over eventual District Champions NCRC, Captain Frank returns a loaded squad that is used to one thing - 3.0 winning! Yes, Towpath will have to replace the legendary pairing of John and 2022 D.F.O. Hall of 3.0 Famer Craig, but with former D.F.O. Player's of the Year William and Ron on the roster, plus the second most winningest captain in the history of 3.0, you just know that when all is said and done, Towpath will be in the running yet again for 3.0 glory!

Questions: With a star-studded roster like this, will Captain Frank be able to keep everyone happy?!

Notes: Captain Kyle is back after another solid year for SAC! First up on the docket is replacing singles star and former Green Open Champion George, recently promoted to nigh-professional 3.5 level o' tennis, but thanks to free agent signing Dustin from Fairlawn, perhaps a replacement is in the wings?!

Key Departures & Additions: William Farr (to 55+), Bogdan Nicolae, David Gann, Scott Nelson

Notes: Few clubs have been hit as hard by departures as much as Medina's favorite Paramount (take that Paramount Westlake!), and Captain Phil will have his work cut out for him to replace the combined 37' height of Bogdan and David as well as the wily veteran experience of William and Scott! However, the rest of the roster is packed with veteran experience of it's own, including 60+ winner Denny and one of the greatest all-3.0-time singles player in all-3.0-time, Roderick!

Key Departures & Additions: Munir Ahmad (to 40+), Elbert Enrique

Notes: Enjoying their best finish in years, Captain Rob looks to keep the good 3.0 times rolling despite losing a few key 3.0 pieces. Indeed, replacing singles players Munir and Elbert won't be easy, but while the squad is light in numbers it more than makes up for that lack of depth with some of the most veteran 3.0ers around!

Key Departures & Additions: Almost everyone! Captain Timothy Booher, Matthew Johnston, Mel Paulino, Benjamin Young, Jaime Unklesby, Allan Lynch, Sunny Makey, Tim Hinchliffe, Douglas Snyder (all to 3.5)

Notes: Just like NCRC1 that is somehow in Flight 1, NCRC2 lost most of it's roster to promotion to the big leagues - 3.5! But Captain Guy's experience, as well as that of Skip, Randy, and William, all members of the National qualifying team last season, will no doubt pay dividends as they continue to celebrate last year's magical 3.0 run!

Notes: A completely new team with completely new players, who knows what to expect when Captain Brian rolls out the lineups?! (we clearly don't)

Questions: As the unknown underdogs, LaTuchie1 is already a flight favorite!

Flight 3 Predictions

Frank, during a D.F.O. interview ... who can't admire, respect, and want to play for Captain Frank?!

Historically the flight with the most new players, Flight 3 could go one of two ways - a completely unexpected finish thanks to so many new players rocking the 3.0 courts ... OR a completely expected finish ... in which Towpath's experience wins the day, and thus the flight. As we are unabashed fans of all things Towpath (how's that for unbiased?!), from their amazing facility to their legendary players, it's hard to envision Towpath failing to take Flight Championship status!

40+ Flight 1

The middle-aged gentlemen of the 3.0 world are back at it, this time with three flights instead of last season's one! Relatively geographically based, they will play one singles and four doubles matches per meet-up in a home-and-away schedule, with the Flight Champions heading to the playoffs!

Sadly, both lost D.F.O. 3.0 Player of the Year Nicholas, but with this many high-quality players, both MVRC team's have a shot at Flight greatness! Indeed, MVRC 2 by have the slight lead in the MVRC clubhouse, as they have several outstanding veteran players, including Captain Robert, doubles specialist Scott, and all-around players John and Brandon!

Notes: CVAC's Captain Steve looks to rebound from last year's one-win season, and certainly has some great players at his disposal to do just that! With singles stars Roger Lee, recently the NTRP Midwest Championships Consolation Champion, and Matt Greenberg, the 2022 NTRP National - national! - champion, CVAC has two of the best singles players in not just their Flight, but possibly in the history of all Flight's (no hyperbole there!). With that in mind, if Captain Steve can fill out the dubs courts, watch out world (and by "world" we of course mean O-H-I-O).

Questions: Will Captain Steve position two of the best 3.0 singles players in NEO as a doubles tandem thus creating the ultimate 6.0 player?!

Questions: How raucous will it get this season at The W?!

Flight 1 Predictions

Despite losing star Nicholas, look for MVRC to take advantage of their depth, their experience, and their talent to enjoy some Flight 1 success this year.

Notes: Captain Ted is back at "The Bubble", looking to improve his team finish despite losing more players than the rest of Flight 2 combined! Getting over the loss of talent and the relatively small roster size may cause some 3.0 headaches for the boys from Avon, but with doubles vets like Ted, John, Michael, and Fernando, they'll surely be able to figure it out!

Notes: The odds on fav's to take another 3.0 trophy, this crack 3.0 crew is led by 2022 D.F.O. Hall of 3.0 Famer Captain Robert! One of the winningest players and captains in all of 3.0 history, he knows how to do one thing - win! (Actually, he probably knows how to do more than just win as he's quite an intelligent fellow) Despite losing a number of players to promotion (or lack of interest), this roster is still stacked with veteran players like 60+ winner Robert and all-court player Matthew, making North Ridge the team to beat in 2023!

Notes: Promotion and injuries have hurt Captain Erik's chances of getting off to a fast 3.0 start, but if anyone can weather the storm, it's his veteran crew of crafty 3.0ers (although since they play outside, they actually can't weather any storm, as it turns out). Captain Erik can count on himself and the return of Travis (from his one disastrous 3.5 season) to help solidify the singles courts while veterans Charlie, Brian, Tom, and hard hitting Michael help provide talent and leadership on the doubles courts!

Questions: If it rains, will Bay even be able to play?!

Flight 2 Predictions

It's a solid bet that if anyone can incorrectly predict these flights, it's these guys!

In what can be anyone's Flight, each team enjoys some strengths ... but also some weaknesses! Bay has two of the top singles players in Erik and Travis while veterans Charlie and Tom can be counted on for doubles, but losing Kuldeep, Brian, and Tony hurts their already limited depth. Meanwhile, Paramount and Force are all loaded with dubs talent, but who will take the singles court? In the end, despite losing two big-time players, North Ridge and Captain Robert look to be the odds-on-favorites to take Flight 2 ... but odds are meant to be broken! (Or is that records? Oh well...)

Notes: Last season's dream run was one for the 3.0 history books, but alas, all books come to an end and it's time for NCRC to write a new 3.0 chapter! And while this season will be mostly about rebuilding a championship caliber squad, writing that new chapter will be a member of last year's team, Captain Jason!

Key Additions & Departures: Reddy Vittedi; Shengyong Wang, Quingyuan Fan (to 3.5), Joe Paydock, Sanket Shah, Ashish Sharma, Christian Coughlan, Todd Hofer, John Clay

Notes: La Tuchie enjoyed a very solid season last year, finishing in the middle of the pack in what turned out to be quite a ... pack. Losing Sheng and Quin is a heart-breaker, but getting Reddy from the 18+ group could be the difference maker to help stabilize the La Tuchie roster!

Questions: Will Captain Geoff be able to repeat his fine first season of leadership from 2022?

Flight 3 Predictions

Every club in this Flight lost significant contributors from last season, but the club that looks the most stable is the old tried-and-true Towpath Tennis Center! Yes they lost valuable team members, but with Captain Frank's leadership, and his and two time D.F.O. Player of the Year Ron's versatility at both singles and doubles, combined with William's National Championship pedigree, it's going to be difficult to knock this legendary 3.0 club off their legendary 3.0 run!

55+ Flight

Last season's Towpath team did what no other Ohio team - 18+, 40+, or 55+ - had ever done before - ended the season crowned as National 6.0 Champions! To repeat said history this time around, these five clubs will play each other both home and away, with three dubs courts deciding the team results, which will in turn determine who will be Flight Champions! And most likely State Champions as NEO is one of the only areas to have such an assembly of elder tennis statesmen! WHOA!

Towpath won it all last season ... which Towpath will aim to do the same THIS season?!

Key Additions & Departures: Craig Warner, Timothy Booher (both to 3.5)

Notes: A combination of two 2022 55+ 3.0 teams out of Towpath, Captain Ron has the deepest and most interesting looking roster in the entire Flight. With six professional-level 3.5ers, this looks to be the most skilled of all the clubs!

Questions: Will the 3.5ers be able to carry the day?

Notes: Captain William lost a lot of depth from last season's squad, but the addition of two-time D.F.O. Player of the Year Ron surely helps solve several a roster issue! Add in veterans Chris, Curt, and Brian, and Towpath 2 looks to improve upon last season's 4th place finish!

Key Additions & Departures: Ben Zagorski, Clem Kissling, Gary Montgomery, Sreeramesh Kalluri

Notes: Captain Robert lost a lot of talent with several departures, but luckily for him he has a lot of talent left in the 3.0 cupboard! Indeed, as the third winningest 3.0er in 3.0 history, he highlights a talented roster with Robert and Will well over 60+ career 3.0 wins themselves. Add in James, Michael, and Lars, and that's even more wins, meaning it looks like this group will continue to do what they do best - win!

Questions: How many wins will Robert, who is currently at 100 even, end the season with?!

55+ Predictions

The elder statesmen of 3.0 tennis look to put on quite a show this season, with Captain Robert's North Ridge and Captain Ronald's Towpath looking to be the main attractions! North Ridge has a talented pool of 3.0ers to pull from, but Towpath's intriguing strategy of pairing 3.5ers with 2.5ers could change the way we see 3.0 tennis for years to come!

One-Doubles

A brand new league with brand new rules, these adventurers are embarking on bold new adventures of the 3.0 kind! Playing each team once for a total of seven matches, the top four clubs will head to a winner-take-all playoff ... against one another! One-Doubles Predictions

In this brand-spanking-new league, anything can happen as eight teams vie to achieve an historic first - One-Doubles Champions! It's anyone's guess who will finish in the top four to earn playoff spots, but the power of Force, the training of Center Court, the tournament experience of CSC look to be the top three with the league experience of Bay, the leadership of Wembley, and the familial ties of CVAC all duking it out for the fourth and final playoff spot! In the end, it very well may be the winter training of Center Court's Abhi and Suhas that make the difference, and don't be surprised if they bring back the title of this most historic event!
