Nicholas and Nathan take the titles!
Launchpad Championship
Taking place in Toledo the last week of July, one of the newest events around gave those in the NWO corner of the great state of O-H-I-O a chance at tournament glory! Tony, who had won the winter version of this event, enjoyed a Consolation Vice-Championship, while Nathan, who had finished 3rd in the winter version of this event, took home his first ever championship gold medal in this Fast Four event!
Green Open Championships
Taking place on the opposite end of the state a month later, the 6th Annual Green Open Championships witnessed some of the best of the 3.0 best ply their 3.0 trade for some championship hardware! In attendance were none other than 3.0 starts like Nathan, the 2022 Akron Open Vice-Champion ... and Erik, the 2022 Akron Open Doubles Champion ... and Nicholas, the 2021 Wooster Aspen Champion ... and David ... the father of Keith, the tournament director! WOW!
Highlights of the match included David getting a big (walkover) win versus Nathan in the Round of 16 and Nicholas versus Erik in the semi's, which saw a repeat of their three set epic SUPER TIE-BREAK result from the Midwest Independence Open, but with Nicholas emerging the victor this time around. In the finals, Nicholas carried that momentum forward to earn his second 3.0 title in as many seasons, capping just a fantastic 2022 on the courts o' singles!
