It was a NWO sweep as the Toledo based clubs dominated the 3.0 tennis scene in 2006! Thanks to having the most overall wins (16) and his all-court play, Dennis earned The 3.0er of the Year Award while NWO neighbor Wade took home the Singles Player of the Year thanks to his dominance in both league and playoff play. In doubles, Dennis' teammate Nagi earned an impressive number of victories (15) to earn recognition as the Doubles Player of the Year and teamed up with Max to notch double-digit wins en route to the pair earning Doubles Team of the Year status! As for leadership, Captain Mark's 21 victories in 24 attempts was so impressive he took home Captain of the Year honors!
In singles, Wade's season proved to be his finest, as his impressive record attested! Indeed, in a fantastic finale at the 3.0 level, Wade wowed the 3.0 world with a fantastic singles run, amassing an impressive 15 singles wins in 20 singles tries, en route to leading his team to a coveted Midwest Ohio Championship! Ending his 3.0 career with 33 wins to 13 losses (that's a lot of 3's!), Wade enjoyed both individual and team success, so congratulations on a great, great '06 season, Wade!
In the tag-team event, Shadow Valley's doubles leaders David and Dennis teamed up to lead their team to Midwest Ohio Championships Championship glory (you know it's glorified when you have to write the word "championship" twice)! Both players enjoyed fantastic seasons individual and together, but it was together where they really shined, shining so bright they ended the year as the Doubles Team of the Year! And thanks to so much shining, Dennis also took home The 3.0er of the Year award!
Leading Two's Athletic Club to tennis (and athletic!) glory, Captain Mark set the heretofore all-time record for wins in a season with a single team, chalking up an impressive 21 team victories in 24 tries!

Voting Notes
Adrian made an incredibly strong case for taking the most prized award this website offers as he won the oldest and biggest event of the season, against the biggest field of the season. However, the panel was also impressed by James' efforts, as he not only won one of the two biggest events of the year, besting two future Major* tournament winners while doing so, but he also enjoyed a fine league season as well, showing he wasn't a one trick pony (which, has anyone ever seen a "one trick pony?" I mean ... what is that?). Meanwhile, Rob's success in both league and playoff play, and in both singles and doubles, put him in consideration as well. Yet, in an incredibly close and split vote, it was Wade who ultimately impressed the Voting Panel with his 75% winning record on the rough and tumble 3.0 singles courts!
In the doubles voting, the Voting Panel was stymied as several deserving teams were on the ballot. For example, David and Scott had an impressive resume, making the Akron Open Doubles finals AND playing great league play together! But so too did John and Joseph who won the biggest doubles event in the 3.0 world (and by "world," we clearly mean "Ohio"). However, after a lengthy discussion, David and Dennis, with their combined league and playoff success, won over the Voting Panel, as their year leading doubles playoff wins just showed how amazing - and how important - they were as a tandem!
In the captain voting, old 3.0 stalwart Barry Bastian was back once again, and his 13 wins in his final 3.0 season certainly garnered attention as did George H. Van Horne's 13 wins as well. But only one man had actually bested the two of this fantastic field generals of the hardcourt, and that one man was none other than Mark! Not only that, but Mark set the all-time record for wins in a season with a single team, chalking up an impressive 21 team victories in 24 tries, a record that to this very day still stands!
